Xiaofeng GAO

Dr. Xiaofeng Gao, is currently a tenured assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering, College of Environment and Ecology, Chongqing University, China. He received his Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Tongji University, 2015, China. Later, Dr. Gao was awarded a Ph.D. Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Japanese Government, and received his Ph.D. degree in Urban Environmental Engineering, The University of Tokyo, 2020, Japan. Before joining Chongqing University, he worked at the Fourth Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, China. Since December 2020, he has been an assistant professor in the present department at Chongqing University. His research interests include C&D waste management, environmental risk assessment for solid waste,  industrial ecology, and urban metabolism. The relevant findings have been published in One Earth (Cell Press), Communications Earth & Environment (Nature Portfolio journal), and Journal of Cleaner Production (Elsevier), etc. He is principal investigator of the Natural Science Foundation of China. Currently, Dr. Gao is a Member of the Academic Committee of Hazardous Solid Waste at Chinese Silicate Society, a member of  the International Society of Industrial Ecology and  a member of the Youth Editorial Board of the Circular Economy, Resources, Environment and Sustainability. He also serves as a peer reviewer for more than 20 academic journals (e.g., Resources, Conservation & Recycling, Waste Management).
