Detritus is a fully Open Access journal committed to the principles of Open Science. All published articles are immediately and permanently available online, free of charge for readers worldwide, with no subscription or access barriers.
Open Access ensures that research published in Detritus is immediately accessible to researchers, practitioners, policymakers and the public, maximizing the visibility, dissemination and impact of scientific results.
To support the editorial and production process, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of €500 + VAT (where applicable) is applied to accepted manuscripts.
APC WAIWER FOR PARTNER INSTITUTIONS
Authors affiliated with institutions that have signed a Detritus Institutional Open Access Agreement are entitled to full APC waivers, allowing them to publish an unlimited number of articles in Detritus at no additional cost.

EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE
The payment of an APC, or eligibility for an APC waiver, has no influence whatsoever on the editorial evaluation, peer-review process, or acceptance of manuscripts. All submissions are assessed exclusively on the basis of their scientific quality, originality, and relevance.
