Detritus was established with the objective of lowering economic barriers to the dissemination of scientific research and supporting a sustainable and inclusive publishing model. The journal primarily follows a traditional subscription-based format, in which no publication charges are applied to authors for standard (subscription) articles.
As an option, Authors may choose to publish their article as Open Access upon payment of an Article Publishing Charge (APC), which may be covered by the Authors, their institution, or their funding body. Open Access publication ensures that the final published version of the article is immediately and permanently available to all users, without access restrictions.
In accordance with the journal’s mission, the APC is set at a level significantly lower than those typically charged by comparable journals in the field, in order to facilitate broader participation in Open Access publishing while maintaining high editorial and peer-review standards.
The APC for this journal is € 500 + VAT (22%).
