Michal Šyc

Michal Šyc is the Director of the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ICPF CAS) He also leads the Research Group of Waste Management and Sustainable Technologies at ICPF CAS. His research focuses on waste-to-energy technologies, urban mining, critical raw materials, and the recycling and treatment of municipal and industrial wastes, including the assessment of environmental impacts and criteria for waste utilization. Dr. Šyc has coordinated and participated in numerous national and international research projects aimed at developing sustainable waste management systems and advancing the circular economy. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, with an h-index of 21 and over 1,500 citations (Scopus Author ID: 16067711000).
