In my scientific work, I focus on the economics of waste management (‘economics of waste’), the efficiency of public services, behavioural aspects of household decision-making on the consumption of public services, or the efficiency and effectiveness of environmental policy instruments. These topics are part of a broader complex of aspects of the transition of the European Union economy to an economy that aligns with the principles of the circular economy (‘circular economy’).
I have been working at UJEP since 2014, and since 2023, I have held the position of Vice-Rector for Science. Since 2020, I have been an associate professor of public economics. Since 2019, I have been a member of the IWWG (International Waste Working Group), where I head the ‘Economics of Waste’ working group and the ‘Scientific Advisory Board’.
Since 2015, I have also been a member of INFA-ISFM, e.v. (Abfall- und Abwasserwirtschaft, Immissionsschutz sowie das Site- und Facility Management).
