Jurate KUMPIENE

Jurate Kumpiene, Chair Professor in Waste Science and Technology at Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden, has been implementing research and education in the area of environmental engineering since the completion of her PhD in 2005 at LTU. Her research interests focus on waste characterisation and reuse, risk assessment and remediation of contaminated materials. Jurate has participated and lead numerous research projects in cooperation with national and international organisations and industrial partners. Jurate has published >70 scientific papers and book chapters and has received a Highly Cited Author’s Award by Elsevier. She is currently a member of the Board of the International Waste Working Group (IWWG).
