Silvia Serranti

Silvia Serranti is Full Professor of Raw Materials Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials & Environment (DICMA), Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, University of Rome “La Sapienza”. She is currently teaching “Recovery and recycling of materials” and “Advanced technologies for recycling of materials” at the Master programme in Environmental Engineering. Her research activity is mainly focused on characterization and valorization of primary and secondary raw materials in order to improve industrial process performances and product quality and to develop innovative on-line sorting strategies, based on different sensing techniques. She is author of more than 180 scientific papers published in international journals and in proceedings of international conferences and she was involved in many research projects financed by the European Union. She is member of SPIE – The International Society for Optics and Photonics since 2016 (“lifetime”) and of IWWG-International Waste Working Group since 2013.
