Howard Robinson has worked for more than 40 years, specialising in degradation processes for landfilled wastes, and the generation, composition and treatment of landfill leachates. Howard has been responsible for the design and commissioning of more than 100 full-scale leachate treatment plants, many of which incorporate innovative process designs which are state of the art internationally.
He has worked on every continent except Antarctica (but remains hopeful), and is passionate about working in developing countries to advance waste training and practice. Howard has been present at all of the Sardinia Symposia since 1987, except 1993, when his second son was born.
His first son was born during the week before Howard attended Sardinia 1991, and now presents papers on leachate treatment in Sardinia himself.  Howard’s hobbies include cricket, and he has not yet decided what he wants to be when he grows up.
