He has more than 25 years of experience within sustainability, circular economy, and residual resource management, with particular focus on sustainability of energy and material recovery, circularity of resources and materials, and circular resource systems. Thomas has extensive knowledge and experience with sustainability assessment, such as environmental life cycle assessments (LCA), life cycle cost (LCC) modelling, and material/energy flow analysis (MFA) in relation to circular solutions, energy and fuels, waste management, and biomass. Thomas is responsible for sustainability in the Danish engineering consultancy, Ramboll. Previously, he was professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) being responsible for numerous research projects, supervising more than 30 PhD students, and contributing with teaching at all levels. Thomas holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from DTU.
